A Conscience of Lamentation
An Old Testament book, Lamentations, records Jeremiah’s elaborate expression of grief regarding the conquered condition of Israel due to the rampant transgressions in the nation. That overthrow was brought on by Israel’s holy Potentate as a castigatory response to Israel’s religious and political leaders who allowed God’s flock to go astray—themselves leading the way.
